The Effect of Load And Passive Force Component on Muscle Recruitment During Elbow Flexion

Abstract

Informaon required about the primary human moon to design so exoskeletons with a humanmachine interface for the upper limb, is the measurement of accurate muscle force with and without load. The elbow flexion moon of the upper limb is considered here for determining muscle forces. During elbow flexion, muscles aached across the elbow and shoulder joints create moments. It is a result of very high coordinaon between our nervous system and the musculoskeletal system. However, not every muscle generates force as most of the human musculoskeletal system is naturally indeterminate. Therefore, one wants to know the paern of muscle recruitment that our nervous system adopts in normal situaons and how it varies during loaded condions. This study has two objecves: First, to determine how our nervous system recruits specific muscle groups for elbow flexion moon subjected to a load or without it. Secondly, the effect of the passive muscle force
